WHY AREN’T MY TIMECARD HOURS ROLLING FORWARD?

Roll forward allows users to copy specified time data from one timecard to the next, thus requiring them to only update the unusual events like overtime, leave or holiday pay.  On rare occasions, a new timecard will be blank or will have limited data populated.  This is because Roll Forward is an integral part of the timecard creation process and its settings at the time the new timecard is created will affect the data that is populated.

Timecards are created in a few different ways.  A timecard is created when a User first enters a timecard.  Timecards can also be created by automated processes such as the posting of punches or dynamic schedules.

The settings for Roll Forward will determine the data that is populated on a timecard at the moment of creation.  When Roll Forward is checked (enabled), the data selected will be projected onto the newly created timecard from the preceding timecard at that point in time.  If only productive hours are selected to roll forward, pay codes related to leave time will not be populated.  So a week of vacation could easily result in a blank timecard.  Also, edits made after Roll Forward’s timecard creation will also not appear on the new timecard.  Needless to say, selecting Roll Forward after a timecard has been created will not populate the new timecard, although deleting and recreating the timecard should result in the data rolling forward.
