The Office of the Athlete Ombuds provides independent, confidential and free support to Team USA athletes. The Ombuds helps athletes understand their rights, options and the resources available to them on issues such as team selection disputes, NGB concerns, athlete safety, discrimination, and well-being.
What the Ombuds can do
- Listen confidentially and help you explore your options
- Explain relevant policies and processes
- Point you to the right organization, such as the U.S. Center for SafeSport or USADA
Important to know
- Ombuds guidance is not legal advice.
- The Ombuds is not authorized to accept formal notice on behalf of the USOPC.
- Confidentiality has limited exceptions, including where there is an imminent risk of serious harm.
