How to Change Agents' Time Zone

Comm100 supports changing agents’ time zone so that the chats and tickets can always reflect the individual agent’s time zone. 

For an agent, the time zone setting affects all the message timestamp in chats or tickets, including the following occasions:

  • On the Agent Console, the message sent and received shows the individual agent’s time zone, regardless of the visitor’s time zone.
    Note: To view a visitor’s time zone, you can go to Visitors > Info tab on the Agent Console.
  • On the Control Panel, the chat requests, offline messages, and chat transcripts in both History and Reporting show the agent’s time zone.

To change an agent’s time zone, you need to have the required permission. By default, the site administrator has permission to manage all agents’ information, and agents have permission to change their own time zone through My Profile.

This article introduces the steps to change agents’ time zone both by managing agents’ information and by editing My Profile. 

Edit Agents’ Time Zone

The site administrator or agents with the Manage Agent & Agent Roles permission can change all agents’ time zone in this method.

To change agents’ time zone, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Comm100 Control Panel.
  2. From the left navigation menu, go to Global Settings > People > Agents. The page lists all the agents in the site.

  3. Click the agent’s name in the list. The page shows the agent’s detailed information. 
  4. On the agent information page, expand the More Information section, and change the time zone setting according to your needs.

  5. Click Save. The agent’s time zone is changed successfully.

Edit My Own Time Zone

Agents can change their own time zone by editing My Profile.

To change an agent’s own time zone, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Comm100 Control Panel.
  2. Move your mouse cursor to your avatar in the lower left corner and click your name.

    The My Account drawer appears from the right side.
  3. On the Profile tab, expand the More Information section, and change the time zone setting according to your needs.

  4. Click Save. Your time zone is changed successfully.
