Introduction
Comm100 allows you to integrate Comm100 Live chat with the Shopify store seamlessly. For integration, you must generate the API access token on the Shopify store while creating a custom app in addition to the Shopify Store URL.
Generating the API access token requires a two-step process:
- Enabling the custom app development
- Generating API access token
Step 1 - Enabling the Custom App Development
To create and enable a custom app from your Shopify owner’s account, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Shopify Store as the store owner.
- From the left sidebar of the admin section, click Apps.
A drop-down menu appears. - Click Apps and sales channels settings.
- Click Develop apps for your store.
- Click Allow custom app development.
- Next, read the information provided and click Allow custom app development.
- Next, click Create an app.
- On the Create an app popup, provide app name and email on the App developer text field.
- Click Create app.
- Once you've created an app, now navigate to the Configuration tab and in the Admin API Integration section, click Configure.
Within the Admin API access scope section, many categories are displayed. - Scroll down for the Products, Customers, Orders, and Script tags category and select the following permissions:
read_products
read_customers
read_orders
read_script_tags
write_script_tags
Click Save.
Step 2 - Generating API Access Token
To generate your access token, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the API Credentials tab.
- Within the Access tokens section, click Install app.
- Again, click Install to confirm the installation.
The Admin API Access Token is generated successfully. - Click Reveal token once to view the token.
- Copy the token and paste on the Shopify Integration page on Comm100 Control Panel.
